Hi everyone.
I just wanted to let you know about a very interesting project.
It is an european project called Music for Visually impared.
Their goal is to allow easier access to braille music using free software tools.
They have very interesting tools which you can check on their website:
www.music4vip.org
The most important one is Braille Music Reader, a free and very powerful tool to read braille scores on the computer.
You can customize the braille score to your taste, format, write your own anotations, listen to the Midi, very easy navigation between elements, bars, parts etc.
You can either listen the description of the music, read it on a braille display or print it in a braille printer.
Check it out and enjoy!
I think it is a step for a wider access to braille music!
Cheers

Is any of that like Sibelius? I've never had the patience to learn how to read and write music but I've used that program before. You type in your whole notes, half notes, rests, etc. and then you can print it out. I thought that was pretty cool.

Omg thank you! I'll check it out today, and see if it's compatible with the mac. I can read and write some music in Braille. nOt complex things, but mainly the basics and some scores. I'll tell you about it. I hope it's not as cumbersome, considering I'm not a computer wiz.
